Collection: Anita Katz

ANITA KATZ,

Based in South Miami Beach, Anita Katz develops a sculptural practice that explores the materialization of memory through time. Her personal history—interwoven since youth with architectural blueprints and the building of a solid family core—serves as the inspiration that fuels her creative universe.

Her work proposes a psychological visual experience where the surface is merely the final layer of an inhabited depth. Through the accumulation of materials, Katz creates testimonies of daily life: those things we fail to recognize until, seeing them embodied, we are allowed to forgive and transcend. In her "THRESHOLD" series, the masks function as portals toward the essence that remains after loss. Here, the artist positions the feminine as a field of forces under reconstruction, turning the ephemeral nature of memory into a tangible, tactile, and eternal form.
